Every action of Mark 12 is evaluated to see how God is glorified. The work we do is grounded in our love and faithful obedience to Him. We measure short and long term accomplishments of those we serve. (Are they reaching their goals? Are they engaged with gatherings of believers?) Mentoring individuals through their journey towards self-sufficiency has several “touch points”. These criteria must be satisfied in order to continue participating in any Mark 12 program.
The Bullitt County White Flag Shelter is just one of the resources offered by Mark 12 Ministry. The White Flag Shelter is a temporary low barrier shelter. It is open during the winter nights and is staffed entirely by a committed team of volunteers.
Meals are provided by local churches, businesses and members of the community. During the operation of the shelter, we engaged with both volunteers and displaced people and started to identify the needs of the community.
Room in the Inn-Bullitt Co. is a job readiness program that provides transportation and transitional shelter for people in Bullitt County.
We partner with local churches and civic groups to provide a safe, secure place to sleep as well as an evening meal. Participants also have access to life skills training and different support group meetings.
A network of Gospel-Centered support groups that meet throughout Bullitt County. We use the curriculum developed by the non-profit Living Free. We share their philosophy.
“People need support to overcome life-controlling issues, but compassionate conversation and understanding are not enough to facilitate real change. Living Free groups focus on biblical truth that confronts our delusion, the Spirit of God to search the secret places in our lives and God’s people who will hold us accountable, pray with us, and show Christian love.”
Pathway Home is our Homelessness Prevention Program. We work with families and individuals that are facing a housing crisis and need some support to navigate their options.
We provide counseling and other services to prevent families and individuals from being evicted, losing their homes, or becoming homeless.
